These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Likya Scholars website and participation in any Likya Scholars programs, sessions, or experiences. By accessing our website, submitting an inquiry, or booking a program, you agree to these Terms.
Likya Scholars offers small-group, place-based travel experiences centered on cultural immersion, guided exploration, and independent discovery. Programs are delivered in collaboration with trusted local partners. Unless explicitly stated, participation does not provide academic credit or constitute enrollment in an academic institution.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, or have guardian consent where applicable, and must be physically and mentally able to participate in all aspects of the program. Participants are responsible for ensuring they hold valid travel documents, including passports and visas where required, and for assessing their own readiness for travel.
A 10% deposit is required to reserve a place in a program. Deposits are non-refundable. The remaining balance must be paid in full no later than 45 days before the program start date. Spaces are limited and confirmed on a first-come basis. Failure to complete payment by the stated deadline may result in loss of the reserved spot.
Programs are intentionally small, with a maximum of six participants. A minimum number of participants is required for each session to run. If a program does not meet the minimum enrollment threshold, participants will be offered the option to transfer to another session or receive a full refund, including any deposit paid.
Program fees include accommodation at a private coastal villa, meals as outlined in the itinerary, scheduled activities and excursions, local transportation during group programming, on-site support, and routine cleaning services. Travel insurance is also included and described below. Program fees do not include flights, personal expenses, optional activities, or travel outside official program dates.
Accommodation is provided in a private villa with three bedrooms. Rooms may be arranged with one shared bed or two separate beds, depending on configuration. Not all participants will have private rooms. Room assignments are determined based on group composition and logistics.
Participants should expect a shared living environment and approach it with flexibility, maturity, and respect for others.
Deposits are non-refundable. Payments are non-refundable within 45 days of the program start date.
Likya Scholars reserves the right to make adjustments to itineraries, accommodations, activities, or schedules due to weather, safety considerations, availability, or operational needs. Such changes are part of the nature of travel and do not allways entitle participants to refunds.
Programs include periods of independent time. During these periods, participants are responsible for their own decisions, activities, and safety.
Participants are solely responsible for booking their own flights to and from Turkiye, holding a valid passport, and obtaining any required visas or travel authorizations. Likya Scholars is not responsible for denied entry, visa issues, or travel disruptions related to documentation, airline decisions, or border policies.
Participants are responsible for managing their own health needs and determining fitness for travel. Dietary preferences and restrictions may be accommodated when communicated in advance, but accommodation cannot be guaranteed in all situations. Participants acknowledge that tap water in Turkiye is not potable and that clean drinking water will be provided at the villa.
Participants are expected to contribute to a respectful, safe, and comfortable group environment. This includes maintaining reasonable cleanliness in shared spaces, practicing basic hygiene, and being considerate of others in shared accommodations.Harassment, discrimination, sexual misconduct, or any form of abusive or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Participants are expected to respect personal boundaries and contribute positively to the group dynamic.Failure to meet these standards may result in removal from the program without refund.
Travel insurance is included as part of the program through a third-party group policy. Coverage includes benefits such as emergency medical expenses (up to approximately $500,000), emergency evacuation (up to approximately $1,000,000), and limited protection for delays and baggage.Coverage is subject to specific terms, conditions, and exclusions as outlined in the full policy document. Participants are encouraged to request and review the full policy prior to travel and to obtain additional coverage if desired. Likya Scholars is not the insurance provider and is not responsible for claim outcomes.
Travel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to transportation delays, weather conditions, physical exertion, and unfamiliar environments. By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with travel and program activities.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Likya Scholars is not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, or delay resulting from participation; is not responsible for acts or omissions of third-party service providers; and is not responsible for force majeure events, including natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, or public health emergencies.
Participants are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow participants, staff, local communities, and partners. Likya Scholars reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate. Removal does not entitle the participant to a refund.
Unless explicitly stated, Likya Scholars programs do not provide academic credit. Participation does not constitute enrollment in a university or educational institution.
All content, materials, and branding associated with Likya Scholars are the property of Likya Scholars and may not be used or reproduced without permission.
Use of the website and services is subject to the Likya Scholars Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected and used.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Likya Scholars is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Likya Scholars may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
