Terms & Conditions – Likya Scholars

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Likya Scholars website and participation in any Likya Scholars programs, sessions, or experiences. By accessing our website, submitting an inquiry, or booking a program, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Likya Scholars

Likya Scholars International acts as a program provider and trip organizer, coordinating services delivered by independent local operators.

Likya Scholars offers small-group, place-based travel experiences designed around cultural immersion, guided exploration, and independent discovery. Programs are experiential in nature and are not traditional package tours or academic courses unless explicitly stated.

2. Eligibility & Participation

By participating in a Likya Scholars program, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age or accompanied by an adult who is with the legal guardians written consent (unless otherwise specified)

  • You are physically and mentally capable of participating

  • You hold a valid passport and any required visas

  • You understand that activities may involve walking, uneven terrain, water-based activities, and independent exploration

Participants are responsible for assessing their own health, fitness, and readiness for travel.

3. Booking & Payments

Program availability is limited and offered on a first-come basis.

A non-refundable deposit of (20%) is required to reserve a spot in a session.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than forty-five (45) days prior to the program start date.

Failure to submit payment by the stated deadline may result in forfeiture of the reserved spot without refund.

All payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers. Likya Scholars does not store payment card information.

4. Booking & Group Size

Likya Scholars sessions are intentionally designed for small groups and are limited to a maximum of six (6) participantsper session.

A minimum of four (4) participants is required for a session to run as planned.

If the minimum participation threshold is not met by the participation deadline, Likya Scholars will notify all confirmed participants and offer the option to:

  • Transfer to an alternate session date (subject to availability), or

  • Receive a full refund, including any deposit paid.

5. What’s Included & What’s Not

Included in the Program Fee:

  • Fourteen (13) nights of shared accommodation at a coastal villa in Kaş, Türkiye

  • Meals as outlined in the itinerary, including daily breakfasts, picnic lunches, and select group dinners

  • Daily activities and excursions as described in the itinerary

  • Transportation during scheduled group outings

  • Support from local guides and a designated trip leader

  • Routine cleaning services and laundry

  • Travel insurance coverage up to USD $500,000, subject to policy terms

  • Access to limited, need-based scholarships (where applicable)

Not Included:

  • Flights to and from Türkiye

  • Personal expenses, souvenirs, or optional activities not listed in the itinerary

  • Travel or activities outside the official program dates

6. Accommodation & Room Assignments

Likya Scholars programs use shared accommodations as part of the program design. Pricing is per participant, not per room.

Room assignments are determined based on group composition, booking order, and logistical considerations. While most participants share rooms, individual arrangements may vary depending on group size.

Private rooms are not guaranteed and are not included by default unless there is an odd number group. Participants may request a private room upgrade by contacting Likya Scholars directly. If available, a 35% accommodation upgrade fee applies.

7. Cancellations, Refunds & Program Changes

Cancellation and refund terms are provided during the booking process and must be reviewed and accepted prior to payment. These terms form an integral part of these Terms & Conditions.

Likya Scholars reserves the right to modify itineraries, schedules, accommodations, transportation, or activities due to weather, safety, availability, or operational considerations. Such changes do not automatically entitle participants to refunds.

8. Independent Time & Personal Responsibility

Programs include both guided activities and periods of independent time.

During independent time:

  • Participants are responsible for their own decisions, conduct, and safety

  • Likya Scholars is not responsible for incidents arising outside scheduled program activities

9. Travel, Flights & Entry Requirements

Participants are solely responsible for:

  • Booking their own flights to and from Türkiye

  • Holding a valid passport

  • Obtaining any required visas or travel authorizations

Likya Scholars is not responsible for denied entry, visa issues, or travel disruptions related to documentation, airline decisions, or border policies.

10. Health, Safety & Dietary Needs

Participants are responsible for managing their own health needs and determining fitness for travel.

Dietary preferences and restrictions (including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free) may be accommodated when communicated in advance, but accommodation cannot be guaranteed in all situations.

Participants acknowledge that tap water in Türkiye is not potable and that clean drinking water will be provided at the villa.

11. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance coverage is included up to USD $500,000, subject to the terms and limitations of the insurance policy.

Participants are encouraged to review coverage details carefully and consider obtaining supplemental insurance if desired.

12. Assumption of Risk

Travel involves inherent risks, including but not limited to transportation delays, weather conditions, physical exertion, and unfamiliar environments.

By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with travel and program activities.

13. Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Likya Scholars is not liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, or delay resulting from participation

  • Likya Scholars is not responsible for acts or omissions of third-party service providers

  • Likya Scholars is not responsible for force majeure events, including natural disasters, political unrest, strikes, or public health emergencies

14. Conduct & Removal

Participants are expected to behave respectfully toward fellow participants, staff, local communities, and partners.

Likya Scholars reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior is unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate. Removal does not entitle the participant to a refund.

15. Not an Academic Program

Unless explicitly stated:

  • Likya Scholars programs do not provide academic credit

  • Participation does not constitute enrollment in a university or educational institution

16. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, images, text, and materials are the property of Likya Scholars LLC and may not be used or reproduced without written permission.

17. Privacy

Use of the website and services is subject to the Likya Scholars Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected and used.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Likya Scholars is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

19. Changes to These Terms

Likya Scholars may update these Terms from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
